Juanillo Beach was Camila's favourite place in the world. Tomás had heard her say it so many times that it became the obvious choice — not just for the setting, but because it told her everything about how well he had been listening.
We arrived before sunrise to set up — a canopy of white fabric, lanterns half-buried in the sand, and a path of marigolds leading to the water's edge. By the time Camila and Tomás arrived for what she thought was an early morning swim, the beach was completely transformed.
Tomás had also arranged for Camila's mother and sister to be hiding just out of sight, ready to appear after the proposal. When they stepped out from behind the palms, Camila completely fell apart — in the best possible way.
"She always says she wants the people she loves around her for every big moment," Tomás told us. "I just tried to make that happen."
